History
The PM md. 90 is a Romanian assault rifle that was based on the Soviet AKM design. It became a staple weapon for the Romanian military during the late 1980s. The weapon is easily recognized by its unique wire-folding stock that helps soldiers move easily in tight spaces.
Engineers made this rifle to be very rugged and reliable in all kinds of weather. Because it uses common parts, it was easy to repair and keep running during long training exercises or missions. It became the standard issue weapon for infantry units across the country.
Today, while Romania is updating its equipment, the PM md. 90 remains a significant part of the nation's military history. It has been used by soldiers in many peacekeeping missions around the world and continues to be a trusted tool for training.
