History
Designed near the end of World War I by famous firearms inventor John Browning, the M2 entered wide service in 1933. It was built around a large .50 caliber cartridge capable of stopping light vehicles and aircraft.
During World War II, the weapon was mounted on tanks, jeeps, bombers, and naval patrol boats across every Allied force. Its incredible stopping power and long range made it feared by opposing ground forces.
The 'Ma Deuce' proved so durable and effective that Allied and NATO nations kept it in frontline service without major redesign through the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the entire Cold War.
