History

Originally developed as a pilot training plane in the United States, the T-28 Trojan was transformed into a tough strike aircraft. The Royal Lao Air Force received dozens of these planes through American military aid programs.

Laotian pilots flew the T-28 on dangerous missions across remote jungle trails and rocky mountain ridges. Because it could fly slowly and turn tightly, it was able to hit targets buried inside steep valleys where fast jets struggled.

The T-28 was the primary warplane of the Royal Lao Air Force during the secret battles of the Vietnam War. It carried machine guns, rockets, and bombs to support friendly troops fighting in difficult country.
