History
The Mannlicher M.95 rifle was adopted by the Dutch military in 1895. During World War I, Dutch troops kept a sharp watch along the borders while maintaining national neutrality. The rifle gave them reliable firepower to show other nations they were ready to defend their soil.
When World War II broke out, Dutch soldiers carried this same bolt-action weapon against the invading German army. Dutch forces stationed in the Pacific also used it against Japanese invaders. Although older than modern machine guns, it remained a dependable workhorse throughout the conflict.
