History
During the Vietnam War, Thailand deployed large ground and air combat contingents known as the Queen's Cobras and the Black Panther Division. In 1969, the Thai government created the Vietnam War Victory Medal to honor these troops.
The award recognized service members who faced intense combat operations in South Vietnam. The medal featured symbols of national defense and a colorful ribbon reflecting traditional military motifs.
More than 40,000 Thai personnel served in the theater of operations during the conflict. The award serves as an enduring tribute to the veterans who served abroad during the Cold War.
