History
The Order of Logohu was established on November 12, 2004, and officially adopted in 2005. 'Logohu' is the Motuan word for the bird-of-paradise, which is the national emblem of Papua New Guinea.
The Grand Companion class represents the top rank of this order. It was introduced to replace senior British honors like Knight Commander appointments for sustained, elite national leadership.
While predominantly awarded for statecraft and diplomacy, senior military chiefs and defense commanders have received this honor for decades of supreme devotion to national security.
