History
The Royal Thai Navy has helped protect Thailand for a long time. It started by building ships that could sail up and down the country's many rivers. Over time, the navy grew to include larger ships that could travel into the open sea. This helped the country grow its trade and keep its borders safe from outsiders. In the 20th century, the navy took on more tasks. During World War II, the sailors had to defend the Thai coast from many different threats. They faced hard fights to keep their ships afloat and protect their bases. The navy also focused on training sailors to be better at using modern technology. They built new shipyards and kept their vessels in good repair. After the war, the navy continued to work on protecting Thailand's long coastlines. They have helped with security in the region and participated in training with other countries to learn new tactics. Today, they are a strong force that keeps the seas around Thailand calm and safe. They continue to adapt by adding new types of ships and technology to their fleet.
