History
The Royal Thai Air Force was officially established in 1937. Before the war, it was growing and learning from other countries. Thailand had to balance its choices carefully when the war began in Asia. The air force was kept busy trying to protect the country's borders from potential threats.
During the early 1940s, the air force was involved in small border clashes. They had to fly older planes against more modern forces. They focused on reconnaissance and trying to keep the skies above Thailand clear. They faced many difficulties because it was hard to get spare parts and fuel.
After the war, the air force began to modernize its fleet by buying planes from the United States. They transitioned into a modern force that has served in many roles over the years. They have grown to be a key part of Thailand's defense and security. The force is still active today, helping with rescue missions and protecting the Thai air space.
