History

The Polish Home Army was a brave resistance group that operated in secret while Poland was occupied by foreign forces. They wanted to free their country and keep the Polish spirit alive. They communicated in code and stayed hidden to avoid being caught.

These fighters performed acts of sabotage to hurt the enemy. They would blow up supply trains, hide secret information, and help people escape. Their goal was to make it as hard as possible for the occupying armies to control the land.

In 1944, they launched a major uprising in the city of Warsaw to fight for their freedom. Though they were eventually overwhelmed, their courage inspired people all over the world. They are remembered as true heroes who fought for their home against very tough odds.
