Poland Founded 1941 Dissolved 1947 Army

History

The brigade was formed in 1941 by Polish soldiers who had escaped their country after it was invaded. They trained in Great Britain to become elite paratroopers. Their main goal was to drop back into Poland to help their people fight against the occupying forces.

However, the brigade was eventually sent to fight in Western Europe instead. Their most famous mission was during Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands. They landed to help support other Allied forces but faced very strong enemy defenses.

The soldiers fought with great skill and courage during the war. After the conflict ended, many could not return to their homes safely. The brigade was finally dissolved in 1947, but the men are remembered for their spirit and sacrifice for freedom.
