History
The F-86 Sabre was America's premier swept-wing jet fighter developed at the dawn of the Cold War. When Soviet-designed MiG-15 jets appeared over the skies of Korea, the Sabre was rushed into combat to stop them.
Pilots tangled in high-speed dogfights across an area nicknamed 'MiG Alley'. Thanks to superior training and advanced gun sights, American pilots scored a very high victory ratio. The Sabre became a lasting aerial symbol of Western air power throughout the early decades of the Cold War.
