历史
作为北约的创始成员国，挪威在冷战期间与苏联有着直接的北方边界。为了守卫这片广阔的北极边境，防止远程轰炸机入侵，挪威皇家空军装备了 F-86K Sabre 喷气式拦截机。
F-86K 的机头配备了雷达罩，使飞行员能够在夜间和浓云中进行雷达跟踪。这些喷气机在北部基地保持警戒状态，负责拦截不明飞行物并巡逻挪威海，直到后来被更新的超音速喷气机所取代。
