歴史
Romaniaはヨーロッパの南東部にあり、豊かな軍事の歴史を持つ国です。現在のRomaniaは19世紀の終わりごろにまとまりました。1916年、Romaniaは連合国側として第一次世界大戦に参加し、GermanyやAustria-Hungaryと戦いました。戦争の初期には厳しい敗北を経験しましたが、最終的に連合国が勝利しました。1918年に結ばれた平和条約の結果、Romaniaは新しい領土を得て、国は大きく広がりました。
1930年代、RomaniaはSoviet Unionのような強力な隣国から身を守ろうとしました。第二次世界大戦が始まると、1940年にNazi Germanyと組んで枢軸国側に加わることを決めました。Romanianの兵士たちは、東部戦線でSoviet Unionの軍隊と激しく戦いました。しかし、枢軸国側の軍隊が負け始めると、1944年8月に政府が交代しました。国は味方を変えて連合国に加わり、残りの戦争期間中、Germanの軍隊と戦うために兵士を送りました。
第二次世界大戦が終わった後、Soviet UnionはRomaniaに共産主義の政府を作る手助けをしました。冷戦の間、RomaniaはSoviet Unionが率いる軍事同盟であるWarsaw Pactの一員となりました。Korean WarやVietnam Warのようなアジアの紛争に戦闘部隊を送ることはありませんでしたが、他の共産主義の国々に医療支援や経済的な援助を送りました。Romaniaの共産主義体制は1989年の革命で終わりを迎え、その後、国の安全を守るためにNATOに加わりました。
