歴史
1914年、ノルウェーは軍の将校や機関銃兵が使う信頼性の高い護身用武器として、アメリカのColt M1911の設計を採用しました。ノルウェーは、兵士が厚い冬用の手袋をしたままでも簡単に操作できるよう、スライドストップレバーを長くするなどの改良を少しだけ加えました。
この拳銃は、第一次世界大戦中にノルウェーの中立を守り、第二次世界大戦では侵攻してきた枢軸国軍と戦うなど、長い間使われました。ノルウェーのレジスタンスは、この拳銃の破壊力を高く評価しており、冷戦時代まで軍で使用され続けました。
