Histoire
Le Panhard VAB a été créé en France pour déplacer rapidement les sections d'infanterie tout en les protégeant des balles et des éclats d'obus. Ses grandes roues en caoutchouc lui permettaient de se déplacer facilement sur le sable et les routes goudronnées.
Le Qatar a utilisé le VAB à la fin de l'époque de la guerre froide et l'a déployé pendant la guerre du Golfe. Lors d'opérations de combat comme la bataille de Khafji, ces véhicules ont aidé à transporter les troupes qatariennes et les unités de soutien au combat en toute sécurité.
