Historia
El Westland Commando fue una variante británica mejorada del helicóptero Sea King, construido sin flotadores para poder transportar tropas terrestres. Qatar compró varias variantes en las décadas de 1970 y 1980 para tareas de apoyo, transporte de tropas y ataques antibuque.
Durante la Guerra del Golfo, los Commando de Qatar realizaron vuelos de patrulla marítima y tareas de logística. Ayudaron a trasladar personal y vigilaron la costa en busca de amenazas marítimas durante todo el conflicto.
