History

The Pingat Bakti Setia was established in 1962 as Singapore's national Long Service Medal. To properly honor veteran military defenders, a dedicated military division—the Long Service Medal (Military)—was maintained.

This award is presented on Singapore's National Day to servicemen and women who reach a full 25 years of honorable service. It represents one of the most respected career milestones an individual can achieve in uniform.
