History
The Order of Fath, which translates to the Order of Victory, was established on September 27, 1989. It was created by the Iranian leadership shortly after the end of the Iran-Iraq War to recognize warriors who won dramatic victories during the fighting.
The medal features three palm leaves over Khorramshahr's Grand Mosque, symbolizing resilience and liberation. It is divided into three classes, with the first class being the most senior and reserved for major theater commanders.
Over time, the Order of Fath became the primary award for celebrating major defense operations. Today, it remains an active honor granted to senior personnel who conduct pivotal defense missions.
