History

The Special Forces of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, often called the 'Avispas Negras' or Black Wasps, are an elite group. They were formed to handle the most difficult jobs that normal soldiers cannot do. These soldiers undergo very tough training that tests their fitness and intelligence. They learn how to survive in the wild, jump from planes, and use special equipment. Throughout their history, they have been sent on missions both inside Cuba and in other countries to support Cuban goals. They are considered the best of the best in the Cuban military. Because they are a special unit, they are often the first ones called when the situation is very dangerous. They work in small groups and focus on being fast and quiet.
