History

In 1917, the country of Siam joined the Allies in World War I. The government decided to send a group of soldiers to help fight in Europe. This group was called the Siamese Expeditionary Force. It was a proud moment for the country to show its support on the world stage.

The group included soldiers who were trained for different jobs. Some were pilots, and others were medical staff. Even though the war in Europe was very different from life back home in Siam, the volunteers worked hard to learn their roles and help the Allied armies.

The force arrived in France near the end of the war. They did not have to fight in major battles for very long, but their presence was important. It showed that nations from all over the world could come together. After the war ended, the soldiers returned home to Siam with new experiences.
