History
The Royal Australian Air Force started in 1921. It was formed to keep Australia safe from threats in the air. Over time, it grew to include many different types of planes for scouting, training, and fighting. During World War II, Australian pilots flew with other countries to stop enemies in the Pacific and in Europe. They were known for being brave and very good at their jobs. The pilots helped protect ships and patrol the large ocean near Australia. They also went on long missions to help the Allied cause. Since the war, the air force has changed a lot. It has bought new, faster jets and better technology to keep track of the skies. They have also helped with search and rescue missions and disaster relief. The air force works closely with other branches of the Australian military. Today, it remains a very important part of keeping Australia safe. They continue to train and prepare for many different kinds of missions around the world.
