History

The 3rd Army was a key part of the Romanian military. It was used during the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 to help regain lost land. The soldiers worked with German forces to push into deep enemy territory.

During the war, the army was involved in many tough battles on the Eastern Front. They fought in the area near the Don River during the cold winter months of 1942. This was a very hard time for the soldiers because they lacked enough supplies.

After 1944, Romania changed sides and joined the Allies. The 3rd Army then helped fight against the Axis powers. They helped push German soldiers out of Romania and Hungary until the war ended in 1945.
