History

The Don Front was created by the Soviet Union during the middle of the war. It was named after the Don River, which was a very important area to control. The main goal of this group was to trap and defeat the enemy forces that had pushed deep into the country. The soldiers were well-trained and focused on the job of winning the major battle in the city. The commanders of the Don Front worked hard to move their troops into the right spots. They used heavy artillery and many tanks to break through enemy lines. This was not easy, and many soldiers were lost in the fighting. However, their success at the city changed the whole war in favor of the Soviets. It was a turning point that gave the army new hope and strength. After the big battle was over, the Don Front was renamed and moved to a new part of the war zone. The unit did not last forever, but it did its job well when the country needed it most. It remains a famous example of how careful planning can win a battle.
