History
The North Vietnamese Army was formed to defend the northern part of the country. They worked closely with other groups to try and take control of South Vietnam. Their goal was to make the country one single nation.
During the Vietnam War, the army used the jungle to their advantage. They built secret trails to move supplies and soldiers without being seen. They were very good at hiding and surprising their enemies, which made them a difficult force to face.
Even though they faced powerful armies from other countries, they continued to fight for many years. Their persistence helped them eventually reach their goals. After the war ended, they became the main part of the new national army for all of Vietnam.
