History
The 238th Infantry Regiment was formed as part of the Japanese Army during the heat of World War II. It was created to help Japan defend its territory against the Allied forces in the Pacific. The unit consisted of soldiers trained to fight in difficult conditions on islands.
Throughout the war, the regiment was stationed in the Philippines. Its main job was to stop the advance of American troops. The soldiers were tasked with defending key areas and holding ground against ships and aircraft.
By the end of the war, the regiment faced very tough battles. Most of the unit was lost during the fighting in the Philippine Islands. The unit ceased to exist when the war ended in 1945.
