History

The Imperial German Army was established when Germany became a unified country in 1871. It was known for being very organized and having modern weapons for that time. Leaders focused on training soldiers to be tough and disciplined.

When World War I started in 1914, the army was one of the strongest in the world. It fought on two main fronts against the Allies. These areas were called the Western Front and the Eastern Front.

Life for soldiers in this army was very hard. They lived in trenches where they faced cold weather and difficult conditions for years. Many new technologies like machine guns and big cannons were used during these long fights.

By 1918, the army was exhausted because of the long war and lack of supplies. After Germany lost the war, the imperial army was disbanded. It was replaced by a different military group after the German Empire ended.
