History

The 76th Reserve Division was formed at the start of World War I. It was part of the German army, which was made up of many different groups of soldiers called divisions. These units were created to help Germany fight against the Allied forces in Europe.

Throughout the war, the soldiers in this division were sent to fight on the Western Front. They took part in some of the biggest and most difficult battles of the time. The men had to move often to reach different parts of the battlefield where their help was needed most.

By the end of the war, the division had seen a lot of hard fighting. Like many other German units during this time, they faced tough conditions and supply problems. After the war ended in 1918, the division was disbanded as the German army shrank in size.
