History

The 11th Landwehr Division was formed to help the German Army during the First World War. Landwehr units were typically used for guarding areas or serving in quieter parts of the battlefield compared to active frontline troops.

The unit served mostly on the Eastern Front. These soldiers were experienced men who had served in the military before. They helped hold lines and keep supplies moving to where they were needed most.

As the war continued, the division faced many tough challenges. They were eventually moved to different locations depending on where the army needed help. By the end of the conflict in 1918, the division was disbanded as the German military began to downsize after the war ended.
