History

The General Command of Police Special Units, often called GCPSU, was formed to be the most elite police force in Afghanistan. They were created to handle the toughest jobs that regular police officers could not manage. Their training was very difficult and focused on specialized skills like night raids, rescuing hostages, and stopping dangerous criminal networks. They worked closely with international partners to become highly professional and effective. Throughout the war in the 2010s, this unit was sent to many different provinces to stop insurgents and protect major cities. They were considered a key part of the government's strategy to keep the peace and catch high-profile enemy leaders. The unit became well-known for being brave and well-equipped during very dangerous fighting.
