History

The French Colonial Army was a group of soldiers who came from many different lands. France controlled many parts of Africa and Asia at the time. Men from these regions were called upon to join the army and help France fight its wars.

During World War I, these soldiers traveled far from home to help the French military. They fought in the trenches and on other battlefields. Many of these men were brave and faced very tough situations while away from their families. They were essential to the defense of the French nation.

The colonial soldiers were often given difficult jobs. They had to fight in all kinds of weather and conditions. Despite the struggles they faced, they helped France achieve many goals. Their service shows how big the war really was, bringing people together from all over the planet to fight in the same struggle.
