History

The French Allied Command was established to lead the armies of the Allied nations. During World War I, it was very important for different countries to talk and share plans. The French leaders helped organize the many soldiers from France and their partners to fight together.

This group made big choices about where to attack and how to defend the land. They had to think about the whole war at once. It was a very big job to manage supplies, guns, and food for so many different armies working together on the front lines.

Throughout the war, the command changed as the needs of the battle changed. They worked to keep all the different groups moving in the same direction. By the end of the conflict, their planning helped the Allies finally stop the German army and bring the war to a close.
