History
British Intelligence was made up of several groups, including the famous code-breakers at Bletchley Park. They spent years working to solve the secret messages sent by the enemy using complicated machines.
Their work was essential for the survival of the United Kingdom. By reading enemy mail and radio signals, they knew where attacks would happen before they occurred. This saved many lives and protected ships at sea.
They also used spies and deception to confuse the enemy. By feeding the opposition fake information, they forced them to move troops to the wrong places. This was a major part of the strategy used to win the war in Europe.
After the war, the methods used by British Intelligence changed to meet new challenges. However, the lessons learned during the fighting remained a foundation for how the country handles national security today.
