History
45 Commando has a long history as part of the Royal Marines. They were formed to be elite infantry units capable of landing on shorelines quickly. Throughout their history, they have served in many parts of the world, often training for extreme environments like mountains and arctic regions. During the middle of the 20th century, the unit participated in various peacekeeping and combat roles around the globe. They are famous for being physically tough and ready for any challenge given to them by their commanders. Their role is to be the first soldiers to arrive in a conflict zone. During the Falklands War, they moved across the islands on foot, carrying heavy gear to reach their targets. Their success helped secure important areas of the islands. Today, the unit remains an important part of the British military, keeping their skills sharp for future needs. They continue to train in new ways to protect their country during modern times.
