History
40 Commando is one of the oldest units in the Royal Marines. It was formed to be a special type of force that could handle anything. These soldiers are experts at amphibious warfare, which means they can attack from the sea. They are trained to be very fit and smart. They have been in many different wars and missions since the early days of their history. They are well known for being able to work well as a team in the worst conditions. During the Falklands War, they helped the British forces win the islands back. They were there at the start of the landing and fought hard throughout the war. Since then, they have served in places like the Middle East and other conflict zones. They are still active and always training for the next challenge. They keep their high standards by training in cold weather and hot deserts. 40 Commando is seen as a very important part of the United Kingdom's defense forces today.
