History

The Fateh submarine is a small, quiet boat designed to patrol the waters around Iran. It is called a coastal submarine because it does not travel far out into the deep ocean. Instead, it is made to hide in the shallow parts of the Persian Gulf, where it can watch for enemy ships. Iran started this program to grow its own navy and stop relying on buying ships from other countries. The boat was designed to carry torpedoes and mines, which are weapons that sit underwater to damage ships. It is built to be hard for other ships to see on their radar. This makes it a tricky tool for defense. The sub represents Iran's effort to create modern equipment that can stay hidden while protecting their coastline. It is a major step forward in their naval engineering program.
