Geschichte
Der Westland Commando war eine verbesserte britische Variante des Sea King Hubschraubers, der ohne Bootsflimmern gebaut wurde, damit er Bodentruppen befördern konnte. Katar kaufte in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren mehrere Varianten für allgemeine Aufgaben, Truppentransporte und Schiffsangriffe. Während des Golfkriegs führten katarische Commandos maritime Patrouillenflüge und logistische Aufgaben durch. Sie halfen beim Transport von Personal und überwachten die Küste während des gesamten Konflikts auf Bedrohungen von der Seeseite.
